Road Trip

Jack and I are going on a road trip!!
My Nana(my maternal grandmother) was from Blytheville, Arkansas. She passed away 3 1/2 years ago. Saturday would have been her birthday and Papa really wanted to go be with the family and visit Nana's grave. So Becky, Papa, Jack and I are taking a road trip to the south!!
I haven't seen this side of the family since I was pregnant with Jack (kind of wierd that I am pregnant again this time!!) So they are all meeting Jack for the very first time.
It should be a great time. Everyone there still calls Becky and I 'The Twins'. So funny. I think they still see us as the little shorthaired girls running around being silly and imitating their accents.
I will post pictures I'm sure when we return. It's suppose to be 90 everyday! Just hope I don't die of heat stroke.
Have a great weekend.

So BIG!!

Jack wanted to climb our little tree in the front yard. Actually I just sat him up in the tree at his request and asked him if I could take his picture and he surprisingly said I could take his picture! He's not a big fan of having his picture taken these days so this was a treat!

Mark Howard

This past Friday my friend Mark from England came to our house for a visit. No...not all the way from England. He actually lives in Connecticut. He is a pastor at a church there. He was in Chicago for a seminar so he rented a car and drove down to have dinner with us and meet my boys for the first time. It was so good to see him! Jack showed off for him and Ryli loved him as well.

Isn't nice to be able to catch up with old friends you haven't seen in awhile!?

Jax Jargon

Jax communication skills are really improving. I keep a journal of some of the things he says. He says things all the time and I am surprised that he knows the words he knows! So I thought I would share with you some of the cute stuff he has said lately. Unfortunately we get to hear some not so cute stuff sometimes too...
On Saturday we were playing with his train table and he looked at me and said, "Mama, you are my best friend!" Ohhh! My heart melted! I will definitely write that down to show him when he is a teenager and tells me he hates me!!
On Thursday we were driving around looking for garage sales and Jack got cold. He said,"Burrrrr, I'm freezing!"
Sometimes when I am reprimanding him I'll say, "I said , NO!" he will look at me and say, "I said , YES!" (one of those not so cute moments!)
I love the moments when he wraps his little arms around my neck, gives me a tight squeeze and says, "My Mama" Is there anything sweeter?
There is so much more but I of course can't think of anything at the moment.
I am just amazed everyday at this little life and how much knowledge he is soaking up everyday. He's not a baby anymore, he is a little person with his own mind and his own ideas and his own feelings!

My sister-n-law just posted new pictures of my nephew- Oliver. He is growing fast! So cute with his big brown eyes. I think he looks just like his daddy. We are going to see them this weekend. I can't wait. It;s been over a month since we last saw him and babies change so fast at this age.

8 weeks and counting...

pinto bean
I know, I know it's been forever since my last post. Sorry- morning sickness hit me pretty hard last week. I was only able to work one full day last week. Not only did I suffer the sickness all day long but I was also having a headache for 2 weeks straight. I went to the doctor yesterday and got some meds and I am feeling better for the past 2 days. They actually say it's a good sign in pregnancy when you are sick, so... I should be thankful.

I am so thankful to Mark, Jake and Stephanie and Aunt Betty for taking care of Jack for me.

He got to go to the zoo with Jake and Stephanie on Sunday-his favorite animal was the otters! And last week Aunt Betty took him to the babysitters in the morning and picked him up in the afternoon and took him out for pancakes for dinner- he loved it. Jack told the babysitter on friday that 'mommy doesn't play with me but daddy does.' Yesterday when I got him up in the morning he looked at me and said 'you have a headache?'

Children are so intuitive. They pick up on more than we think.

I like to look up online what the baby looks like each week and how big it is. A few weeks ago it was the size of a piece of rice and this week it is the size of a pinto bean!! Amazing! We all started out as little pinto beans!! The baby already has arms and legs and eyes and a brain! I pulled these pics off the internet- this is not actually our baby but I thought these pictures were interesting.
