Jax little girlfriend Rylee turned 4 last weekend. She had a Batman and Robin themed birthday. She was telling everyone before her birthday that she was going to be Robin and her boyfriend was going to be Batman!
So cute!!
Also, we are so excited that Rylee is going to be a BIG sister!!! Congratulations Kara!!

It's hard to be mommy and photographer. I have to be the reprimander and the entertainer to get these images. They don't turn out exactly as I would like but this is what I got.

i ♥ {him}!!! i really do! he is more than i ever dreamed he would be, this boy of mine. he is funny. he is sweet. he is caring. he is thoughtful. he is cuddly. he is intelligent. he is stubborn. he is particular. he is love.
we all have our good traits and our not so good traits. sometimes jack frustrates me when he is stubborn.
i yelled at him today while trying to get him out the door because i was stressed and late.
i feel really bad.
he couldn't decide what toy he wanted to take to school so i yelled at him. i don't want to be that parent.
i am funny. i am sweet. i am caring. i am thoughtful. i am cuddly. i am intelligent. i am stubborn. i am particular. i am love.
he looks exactly like his dad but acts exactly like me. he is an extention of me. i want to nurture and accept him just as he is and learn to creatively channel all those attributes of myself that i see in him. i believe in him. i believe that the frustrating attributes are also positive attributes.
i don't want to yell at him.
i watched him in the rearview mirror while driving him to school(of course there was a detour to starbucks at his request). he looked so little and so innocent. he is little and innocent. he is going to learn how to relate to people through my example. i don't want him to yell. i want him to love.
i want to be a better parent. not a parent that let's him walk all over me. and not a parent that just wants to be her kids best friend. i want to challenge him and teach him and love him and support him. i want to be firm yet still show kindness at the same time. i don't take this responsibility lightly and that is probably why i am so disappointed in myself. i know that i am shaping his future. i want to do my best for him.
he is mine. i ♥ {him}!

{PINK} week @ i♥faces

It's PINK week at i♥faces in honor of breast cancer awareness. I decided to post another from Amy's maternity shoot from this past weekend. She is having a baby girl. My other sister-n-law is having a baby girl as well. So now we will have 3 little girls in the Goodman family. Let's pray that a cure will be found so that all our little baby girls will not have to know what breast cancer is!

This is my sister-n-law Amy. She is going to have a baby girl in about 2 months. I can't wait!! I'm getting 2 little baby nieces this year!!

Look at our {big} girl!!

She started walking yesterday! I knew she would be an early walker since she started standing up when she was about 7 months old. We are so proud of our little girl! She looks like Frankenstein but she is walking. Course she still prefers to crawl to get there faster!

The theme at is EXCITED...
This picture is from Jax birthday in August. He really wanted some new deluxe Batman wings dor his birthday and was disappointd that he didn't get them at his party. So we got them for him to open at his birthday dinner at Hyashi. He was definately EXCITED when he saw these. He put them on right there in the restaurant and everyone thought he was so cute!

I made Ava this dress for the wedding we went to tonight.

My cutie pies at the wedding reception...{it was cold and we literally only had about 10 seconds to take this picture and that is why Ava is not put togehter any better} I will have to take a nice picture of her in this dress because she really looks so cute in it.

Jack was the featured artist at preschool this week. I'm really proud of him...

When did he get so BIG??

He says the days of the week, months of the year, counts to 20 and says his ABC's perfectly now. He is really enjoying learning.

We had some fun on the way to pick up Ava...

He has been carrying this around all week and even goes to bed with it. His name is 'spider monkey'

And he was so excited to see all his friends at Mimi's house.

If money weren't a deciding factor we probably wouldn't have chose this particular preschool. I would have loved to send him to 'the best one in town'. However, Jack is learning so much and really loves his teacher. So really that is all I could ask for!

I know I already posted about our fall activity to the Rader Farm but this is Ava's official fall outfit. I picked up the hat and socks a few months ago and knew I wanted to use them for her fall outfit(although she hated the hat and kept pulling at it and taking it off, i should post the out takes from this photoshoot!). I couldn't find the exact shirt I wanted that was cheap so I got her the orange shirt for $4(which I actually love now) and I made her the little vest just to add some texture to her outfit. I am all about layering right now especially for pictures.
I'm sure there will be more fall pics. I have to get some of Jack. I also want to get them playing togeher in the leaves!

We went to the Rader farm today with Aunt Becky, Aunt Jolene and cousin Kate. Well when we got there, Jax little girlfriend Rylee and her family(which includes Jack and Ava's babysitter, Mimi) were there. Jack was beside himself! He was so excited to see Rylee. They don't get to spend much time together anymore because he goes to school now. Anyway...you can see by these pictures that they had a lot of fun. They are adorable together.
Ava had a good time too! She was very busy! We couldn't hardly get her attention for pictures because she was mesmerized by all the new and exciting things around her! I can't tell you how many people stopped us to look at her and say how beautiful she was and how cute the flower in her hair was. Everyone thought she was a doll. I was very proud! :)

Our friends had a little baby boy. {Cadden} He was 11 days old yesterday when we took these pictures. He was the perfect sleepy cuddly baby.

Jacob asked if Jack could come over and play while we took pictures. Jack had a blast and wanted to go back to his house today. He asked about 3 times today.

My top 5 {favorite} photographers

I check out other photographers on a regular basis. I want to be a better photographer and so I draw inspiration from those that I consider to be some of the best!! I thought I would share with you my top 5 favorites that I would love to be able to shadow and just watch and learn from them as they do what they do best. I would absolutely love to have any one of them photograph me and my family however they are a little far away. Maybe we could plan a family vacation around where they are from!! :)

5. Jennifer Mott: http://jennifermott.com/blog/

what I love about her is her newborn portraits. http://jennifermott.com/blog/category/babies/ She does a great job of photographing the baby in their own home and environment and really showcases the nursery and everyday life of mom and baby.

4. Rachel Devine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sesameellis/

She posts a new picture just about everyday mostly of her children. I really love the way she writes about her kids. She truly sees them and knows them on such an intimate level and you can see how much she cares for them and treasures their unique individual personalities. As far as from a technical photography aspect, I like how pure and crisp and clean her images are.

3. Andrea Hanki: http://pinksugarphotography.typepad.com/pink_sugar_photography_bl/

This photographer is edgy and cool! I love how deep her images are. She has the coolest set up for her images on her blog and always includes little details that most would miss in each of her sneak peeks. Whether it's the cool pattern from a little ones dress, the color of the wall that the mom to be was standing against or the stripes from the big lollipop the kiddos were eating...she captures the emotion of the moment.

2. Bobbi and Mike: http://www.bobbiandmike.com/blog/

This is a husband and wife team that specializes in weddings. It is evident from the pictures that this is one fun and quirky pair of photographers. They are creative.whimsical.perfection.
They can get the coolest picture using the most nontraditional things like street lines, traffic safety barrels, wedding rings in a bowl of cherry tomatoes or mail trucks! You just have to check out their blog to know what I am talking about!

1. Michelle Anderson: http://pinkletoes.com/blog/ This is a photographer that I discovered when I was pregnant with Ava. She happened to be pregnant with a baby girl as well and our daughters are about 2 weeks apart. She also has a son that is Jax age. So it is so fun to look at her blog because I feel like I have so much in common with her. She is a talented photographer and I just love the special intimate details that she captures of her family. Every image is perfection and emotional! She is very much the kind of photographer I would like to be. Real.Emotional.Sweet.Creative.Intimate.Colorful.Deep.Pure.Timeless.Natural.
I draw a lot of inspiration from her.

I hope you enjoy looking through my favorite photographers. There are many others that I like but these are the ones I can't wait to see what they have on their blogs each day!
